About us
About Carafin Activity Park?
Pauric McGerty and his wife Clare are your hosts when you visit Carafin Activity Park. They have constructed this purpose-built activity park on the shores of Carafin lake. Pauric and Clare are small beef and poultry farmers. With Pauric’s interest in all things Fishing and Outdoors and Clare’s experienced background in the hospitality sector — the idea for an Carafin Activity Park was born.
Here at Carafin, we provide multiple types of activities with environmental tourism at the forefront of our agenda.
Sustainability is a number one priority for us. Being in The Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, we had to participate in a Sustainability Business Training Program to prioritise our efforts in giving back to the landscape.
We want people to make the most of their time in Cavan, enjoying what the scenery has to offer, but with a strong conscience for treating the local environment with awe and respect. We believe that Cavan is a hidden-gem and located of the beaten track, so if you are interested in authentic tourism, then this is the destination for you. The area has so much potential for outdoor activities, so overall our mission is to combine recreation with a leave no trace policy.
We combine fitness activities with the great outdoors, so people can get the best of both worlds. The combination of exercising and exploring; amalgamated together always makes for a great day out and fun for all the family.
Our centre provides a dining area, changing rooms, showers, wheel-chair accessible toilets and Wi-Fi.
If you want to bring your work colleagues and have a conference before undergoing one of our activities, we also have our very own board room called “The Carafin Suite” to host your own meetings. Great option for the corporate groups!
We can also offer food and beverage options to complete your day in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.
